Davey turned five September 20th and we had the best day celebrating our boy! We ate a yummy breakfast which included the donut cake he requested. He opened presents and we all built lego sets for hours. While Clara and Daddy went to dance practice, Davey, Emma and me went exploring at The Outdoor Campus. We then had supper at Red Robin and played all the games at Chuck E. Cheese. We grabbed Cherry Berry on the way home and ended the night with a chapter from Mary Poppins. Loved spending the day saying yes to Davey's dream day.
I love being David's mama so much! He is just the sweetest, cuddliest little guy. He is such great brother to his sisters. He LOVES playing with both of them and is often so thoughtful and considerate of them. He still calls Clara "Sissy" 99% of the time. I hope he never stops. He's been mentioning again lately how much he'd like a baby brother. His favorite thing in the world is to wrestle with his Daddy. He loves helping me cook or bake. He's happy to build with legos for hours and superheroes are still his favorite. He loves his Imaginext figures as well as his "big figs" as he calls them (his 12 inch superheroes). He loves playing outside, riding his bike, and swinging. Davey is currently playing soccer and isn't afraid to go after the ball. He also enjoyed T-ball again this past summer. David loves silly humor and I love hearing his thoughts about things. Gosh, we just love our boy so much!!

I'm taking a picture of the birthday boy when I hear...
..."cheese!"
He was so excited to have a donut cake!
This was the most hilarious thing EVER!!! I was trying to take a picture of Davey with his sisters and we told Clara and Davey to both hold Emma's hands tight so she didn't grab the donuts. So this little silly one tried to dive face first for the donuts with her tongue out instead. They held her back but we were all just rolling with laughter.
Happy, happy, happy birthday,
Happy birthday to you,
Make a special birthday wish,
May all your wishes come true,
We all love you,
We're here to celebrate you!
They were so proud of their Minecraft world!
A family picture as we headed out the door for some more fun!
Davey had a list of all the things he wanted to do on his birthday and visiting The Outdoor Campus was one of them!
I was trying to set up my camera timer to take a picture of Davey and me and a man and his son walked by and asked if he could take the picture for me. As I was quickly showing him how to use my camera I learned he's a photographer! Serendipity!
Davey wanted to eat at Red Robin for supper! Our family loves that place!
Chuck E. Cheese topped Davey's wish list for the day. They all had a blast!
Jackpot!
We stopped for some Cherry Berry on the way home.
We ended the night snuggled in for a chapter of Mary Poppins. We rented an original 1934 copyrighted edition from the library and all three of us loved every minute of it. After we completed the book we rented the movie and were just giddy with excitement watching it. Mary Poppins will always have a special place in my heart now. And I think the kids and I have started a new tradition of reading classics and afterwards celebrating with the movie version.
Such a great day with our boy!
